Cloud based services could save state hundreds of thousands of dollars Austin, TX - Corrections Technology Group (CTG), a nationwide reseller of Google Apps and custom IT solutions, will exhibit at the 2011 Iowa Corrections Association Fall Conference in Iowa City October 12-14. The conference brings together Corrections professionals from all over the state and country to provide workshops, tools, ideas and contacts to those working “Iowa’s toughest beat”.

This year’s conference theme, “Preparing for the future” comes at a pivotal time for Iowa and the nation. ICA is one of the strongest state correctional organizations in the nation because its members are so actively engaged in improving the broad base of correctional programs they support.

“We’re proud to be able to participate in this important conference” said Jack Ryan, CTG’s Director of Operations. “Iowa’s current use and vision for technology keeps officers safe, costs down and recidivism low.”

At the conference in Iowa City CTG will be exhibiting Corrections Cloud, an innovative collaboration and intelligence gathering system designed to streamline processes for jails, prisons and detention centers.

The timing is right. In 1985, there were 2,635 offenders in Iowa’s prison system statewide. In 2005 Iowa’s prisons held 8,578 inmates – over three times as many. During that same time, the offender population in community-based corrections increased from 14,990 to 30,281 offenders – more than double.

Despite current overcrowding by 20% Iowa’s more than 4000 corrections professionals remain national leaders in providing a fully integrated corrections system that is safe and effective.

CTG estimates the state could save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by joining the over 3 million other agencies and businesses using Google Apps.

CTG is the developer of Corrections Cloud. The service brings simple, powerful communication and collaboration tools to correctional organizations of any size. CTG’s private cloud offers collaborative intelligence and cost savings with special security considerations for the corrections industry.

CTG is a member of the American Correctional Association and Google Apps Authorized Reseller Program. The company provides technical support and consulting to jails, prisons and detention facilities.
